About the position
For one of our clients in the dredging industry, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Chief Engineer 3000GT to join a modern hopper dredger operating on international projects.
As Chief Engineer, you are responsible for the safe, efficient and reliable operation of all engine room systems. You lead the engine department and ensure that machinery, maintenance and technical operations meet the highest standards of safety and performance.
Key responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for the engine room and technical installations
- Managing and supervising the engine department
- Planned maintenance and troubleshooting of main engines, auxiliaries and dredging-related systems
- Ensuring compliance with company procedures, ISM, and international maritime regulations
- Monitoring fuel consumption, spare parts and technical budgets
- Reporting technical issues and maintenance status to shore management
Requirements
- Valid Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency (3000GT or higher)
- Proven experience as Chief Engineer on hopper dredgers or similar vessels
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, auxiliary systems and dredging equipment
- Good command of the English language (spoken and written)
- Safety-minded, solution-oriented and able to work independently
- Flexible and willing to work on international rotations
